Young Rugby Football Club (Young Yabbies) had its inaugural season in 1955 in the then South West competition. The clubs first President was the late ER Caldwell and the first Secretary the late ER Day. We are not sure why the club was named the “Yabbies”, other than suggesting the obvious.
